International professional services firm KPMG has announced a global alliance with AI company Anthropic to fully integrate Claude AI across its more than 276,000 employees in 138 countries. According to the announcement, KPMG has embedded Claude into its core software platform Digital Gateway — widely used for tax and legal work by internal staff and clients. All global employees will gain access to the AI system.

The partnership builds on KPMG's U.S. business adoption of Claude over the past two years, including use by its AI and data labs and internal teams. KPMG has directly integrated Claude Cowork and Managed Agents into the system, enabling professionals to build AI capabilities within the platform. Additionally, KPMG will serve as the preferred consulting advisor for private equity portfolio companies deploying Claude, and both teams will use Claude to identify and fix security vulnerabilities in critical systems, following KPMG's Trusted AI Framework throughout.

A KPMG executive stated: "This global alliance with Anthropic reflects our shared commitment to responsible AI, prioritizing safety, trust, and governance." The large-scale deployment marks a significant milestone for enterprise-level AI adoption in the professional services industry.

Commentary: KPMG's large-scale rollout shows that leading consulting firms are accelerating the integration of generative AI into core business processes, shifting from auxiliary tools to autonomous workflows. Anthropic's Claude, with its strengths in safety and compliance, has become a key choice in the professional services sector.
