Registering a Claude Account: 3-Step Email Verification

Go to the Claude website (claude.ai) and click the "Sign Up" button in the top-right corner to open the registration page. You can sign up using a Google account, Apple ID, or a standard email address (e.g., Gmail, Outlook). Choose the email option, enter your address, and set a password.

Claude will send a verification email to your inbox. Click the link inside to confirm your account. Note that some email services may route the verification email to your spam folder—be sure to check there if you don't see it. Once verified, you can start using the basic chat features for free, no credit card required.

Linking Third-Party Accounts: Fast Login & Data Sync

After logging in, go to "Settings > Account" to link your Google or Apple account for one-click sign-in. Once linked, you can switch devices without re-entering your password—just authorize via the linked account.

For Claude Pro subscribers, you can add a payment method (e.g., credit card) in the "Billing" section to manage auto-renewals. If you're using Claude Team (business version), admins should invite members and assign permissions through the organization settings; regular members simply accept the email invitation to join.

Switching Accounts & Multi-Device Sync Tips

Claude allows you to log in on multiple devices (desktop, mobile app) at the same time, but only one active session is allowed at any moment. To switch accounts, click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner, select "Log Out," then sign in with a different account.

If you frequently switch between work and personal accounts, consider using browser multi-user profiles (e.g., Chrome profiles) to keep each session separate. Note that Claude does not automatically sync chat history across different accounts, so export important conversations as text files beforehand.

Common Login Issues & Fixes

If you see an "Invalid credentials" error, double-check your email and password, then try resetting your password. An "Account locked" message usually means too many incorrect password attempts—wait 30 minutes before trying again, or contact support.

Some users report not receiving the verification email. Check your spam filter or try registering with a different email address. On the mobile app, if login gets stuck on the loading screen, ensure you have a stable internet connection and update to the latest app version. If the issue persists, clear the app cache or reinstall it.
