When it comes to ChatGPT paid plans, Plus and Team often leave users torn. Both share the GPT-4o model, but differences in quotas, collaboration, and administration are significant. This article breaks down the details from three angles—pricing, features, and use cases—so you can quickly find the best fit.
Pricing & Message Limits
ChatGPT Plus costs $20 per month for individual users, with a GPT-4o message cap of about 80 messages per 3 hours (may adjust dynamically during peak times). The Team plan is $25 per month per user (billed annually) or $30 per month with monthly billing, each user gets an independent quota of roughly 100 messages per 3 hours, and it's not throttled during high-traffic periods. For teams of multiple users, Team also provides a shared workspace where member quotas don't interfere with one another.
Additionally, Team supports a longer context window (32K tokens), giving it a clear advantage in long-document analysis or complex conversations. Plus currently defaults to 8K tokens (manual switch available in some scenarios), and large tasks are more prone to hitting truncation.
Features & Collaboration
Both plans include GPT-4o, DALL·E, browsing, and the code interpreter. But Team adds a dedicated workspace where admins can centrally manage plugins, share conversation templates, and maintain knowledge bases. Plus only offers a personal space—no way to share conversations or custom GPTs with others for collaboration.
