Claude Tutorial: How to Sign Up, Link Devices, and Switch Accounts

Claude

Claude is a powerful AI assistant developed by Anthropic, capable of text generation, code writing, document analysis, and more. This tutorial walks you through registration, device linking, and account switching, helping you get started quickly and avoid common pitfalls.

Sign Up & Login: Creating Your Claude Account from Scratch

Go to the official Claude website (claude.ai) and click "Get Started" to open the registration page. You can sign up using a Google account or an email address—using Gmail is recommended for easier login later. After entering your email, the system will send a verification message. Click the link in the email to complete verification, then set your password.

If the verification email is delayed or doesn't arrive, check your spam folder. Once registered, you'll automatically receive the free tier, which allows a limited number of conversations per day. We recommend logging in immediately and completing your profile, such as linking a phone number for added security.

Account Linking & Multi-Device Switching: Syncing Conversations & Preferences

By default, Claude connects to your account through your email. You can log into the same account on multiple devices (computer, phone, tablet). After signing in on a mobile browser or the Claude app (you may need to switch to the US App Store), your chat history and settings will sync automatically—no extra linking steps required.

To switch between different Claude accounts (e.g., personal vs. work), go to Settings and click "Log Out," then log in with the other account. Note that the free plan doesn't support being logged into multiple accounts at the same time, but you can use browser multi-profile features (like Chrome profiles) for quick switching.

Tips & Tricks: Getting More Out of Claude

When using Claude for the first time, try giving clear instruction styles in your prompts, such as "Answer in English" or "List the points." Claude supports file uploads (PDF, Word, code files) — simply drag and drop them into the chat window for analysis. To save important responses, click the "Copy" or "Export" button in the top-right corner of the conversation.

If you encounter "Network Error" or "Request Timeout," first check your internet connection, then try refreshing the page. Free-tier users who run out of conversations can wait for the daily reset or consider upgrading to Claude Pro. Remember to periodically clear old conversations to avoid slow loading times.
