Global automated broker Interactive Brokers (Nasdaq: IBKR) recently announced the addition of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and xAI’s Grok to its growing lineup of certified AI integrations. Following the earlier inclusion of Claude, this move further expands the broker’s “smart trading” toolkit. Through the certified AI connector marketplace within its software network, clients worldwide can now use natural language to instantly research deep historical indicators, analyze macro market patterns, and programmatically generate complex trade orders. Milan Galik, CEO of Interactive Brokers, commented: “Investors are increasingly interested in interacting with financial markets in a more natural way. Adding ChatGPT and Grok, along with support for options and futures, broadens the path for clients to securely connect AI tools for research and execution.”
In this update, Interactive Brokers also expanded the asset classes supported by its order instructions. In addition to stocks and ETFs, the broker now supports options, futures, and futures options. Users can input natural language requests to generate orders for these instruments instantly. For example, an investor could request “buy one Tesla call option expiring next week” or “short one crude oil futures contract,” and the system will parse and execute it automatically. This capability moves AI beyond analysis into the execution phase, lowering the traditional programming barrier—especially valuable for professional traders aiming to react quickly to market shifts.
