New Haven, CT, June 23, 2026 – Biomedical innovation engine BioMed X today announced a global call for research proposals focused on the emerging field of neural circuit regulation of immune function. Supported by Biogen, the initiative seeks bold, innovative ideas to uncover the mechanisms by which the nervous system influences immune responses, paving the way for new treatments in autoimmune diseases.
Titled “Neural Circuit Regulation of Immune Function,” this open call is open to research teams worldwide and targets the intersection of neuroscience and immunology. Dr. Eftekharzadeh, Chief Scientist at BioMed X, stated: “The interface between neuroscience and immunology is one of the most exciting frontiers in biomedical research today. By combining cutting-edge experimental platforms with advanced computational methods, we hope to discover novel mechanisms of action that can ultimately lead to more effective therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases.” Proposals are due by August 16, 2026, and selected teams will receive support to conduct independent research at the BioMed X Institute in New Haven, Connecticut.
