Claude

Claude is an intelligent chat assistant created by Anthropic, available in both free and paid versions. This guide covers everything from registration and account linking to switching between devices, helping you get up and running quickly. Whether you are a new user or someone who manages multiple accounts, you will find clear step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Register a Claude Account

Open the official Claude website or download the app, then click "Sign Up" to begin. You can register using a Google email, Apple ID, or a regular email address (such as Outlook or Gmail). After verifying your email, some regions require you to link a phone number to receive an SMS verification code – this step is mainly to prevent abuse. If you don’t receive the code, check your SMS filter or try registering with a different email.

Step 2: Complete Initial Setup and Account Linking

Once logged in, Claude will guide you through setting your preferences, such as language and conversation style. If you want to use the paid Claude Pro version, go to the Settings page and enter the "Subscription" section to link a payment method. Currently, credit cards and PayPal are supported, and some countries also allow debit cards. Make sure your network is stable when linking to avoid payment failures. Free users can use the basic features without linking any payment method.

Step 3: Multi-Device Switching and Account Management

Claude supports seamless switching between the web version, iOS app, and Android app. Simply log in with the same account on another device to sync your conversation history. To switch to a different account, tap your profile picture, go to the "Account" page, select "Log Out", and then sign in with another account. Note: when switching between multiple accounts frequently, it is recommended to clear your browser cache or use incognito mode to avoid cookie conflicts that may cause login issues.

Common Issues and How to Avoid Mistakes

Some users encounter "Network Request Error" or "Session Expired" messages. This usually happens after a long period of inactivity or due to anti-bot mechanisms. The fix: refresh the page or log in again. If you see a "Payment Declined" prompt when linking a card, check whether your card supports cross-border payments, or try a different card. Another common issue is not receiving the verification email after registering with an email address. First check your spam folder; if it is still missing, contact Anthropic support to verify your email status.
