1. Claude Account Registration Process
Visit the official Claude website (claude.ai) and click the “Sign Up” button in the top-right corner to start registration. Enter your email address and create a strong password of at least 8 characters (combining letters, numbers, and symbols is recommended). After submitting, the system will send a verification email to your inbox. Check your inbox (including the spam folder) and click the “Verify Email” link to complete verification. You will be automatically logged into Claude. The entire process takes about 3 minutes.
If you use common email services like Gmail or Outlook, the verification email usually arrives within seconds. If you don't see it after a few minutes, try resending the verification email or use a different email address to register. Claude currently supports most international email providers, though some regional email services may experience delays. We recommend using a widely used global email service for the smoothest experience.
2. Email Binding and Security Settings
The email address you enter during registration becomes the default binding email for your Claude account. You will need it for future logins and password recovery. After logging in, go to the “Settings” page and click on the “Account” section to view your current bound email. You can also add a backup email as a secondary verification method. While Claude does not yet support phone number binding, you can enable “Two-Factor Authentication” (2FA) to enhance account security. We recommend using authenticator apps like Google Authenticator or Authy.
Be sure to keep your email password and Claude login password safe, and never share them with others. If you suspect your account has been compromised, reset your password via email immediately and check for any unusual login activity. Claude's account recovery process relies on email verification, so it's essential that your email address can receive messages normally.
3. Multi-Device Login and Account Switching
Claude supports logging into the same account on both the web browser and mobile app simultaneously. However, only one device can actively send requests at a time. If you need to use Claude on another device, simply log in normally on that device. Your current device will not be forcibly logged out, but switching between devices may cause session conflicts. To avoid unnecessary errors, we recommend logging out of the current device before logging into a new one.
Switching accounts is straightforward: click your profile icon in the top-right corner, select “Log out,” and then enter the email and password of the other account to log in. The same process applies to the mobile app — tap “Log out” in the Settings menu. Note that Claude does not offer a one-click account switch; each switch requires a full login. However, because login sessions are preserved, you can keep different accounts logged in on different browsers or devices.
4. Common Registration and Binding Issues
Many users encounter the problem of not receiving the verification email. First, check your spam folder and add Claude's sending domain to your whitelist. If the email still doesn't arrive, try changing your network environment (e.g., switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data) or register with a different email address. Additionally, Claude may have access restrictions in certain regions. If you cannot open the official website or the registration page, consider using a stable network tool.
If you need to change the email bound to your account, go to “Settings” > “Account,” click “Change Email,” enter the new email address, and complete the verification process. After changing the email, the old address will no longer work for login, so make sure your new email is accessible. Claude does not support binding multiple primary emails at the same time. The backup email is only used for password recovery and does not affect the use of the primary email.
