Google announced on Monday that the personalized AI image generation feature in its Gemini app is now available for free to all eligible users in the United States. Powered by the Nano Banana model, the feature was previously restricted to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscription tiers. This change significantly lowers the entry barrier, allowing more users to create customized images that reflect their individual interests.
Google first unveiled the upgrade plan for this Personal Intelligence feature back in April and rolled it out broadly to US users in March. According to a roadmap released last month, the Gemini app is set to receive several major updates, including a "Daily Briefing" feature, a redesigned interface, access to the AI video model Gemini Omni, and a personal AI agent called Gemini Spark.
