New to Spotify? Many users get stuck on registration and account switching. Whether you're testing the free version or planning to subscribe to Premium, a stable account is essential. This tutorial walks you through signing up, linking your email, and switching accounts across devices—simple steps to follow.

Account Registration and Email Verification

Open the Spotify website or app and tap "Sign Up." You can log in directly with your Google or Facebook account, or create an account using your email. If you choose email registration, enter your email address, and Spotify will send a verification link. Click the link to complete the binding process.

Note: In some regions, network conditions may delay the verification email. Wait about 5 minutes and refresh your inbox. After registration, it's recommended to add a backup email or phone number in "Account Settings" to make password recovery easier.

Multi-Device Login and Account Switching Tips

Spotify allows you to log into the same account on your phone, tablet, computer, and smart speaker simultaneously. However, the free plan only supports playback on one device at a time, while Premium enables multi-device switching and offline downloads. To switch accounts, go to "Settings" in the app or desktop client, find "Account," and select "Switch Account."

If you share a Family Plan with friends, avoid频繁 logging out and back in, as it may trigger unusual activity flags. My advice: keep the main account on one device, and have other members join the Family Plan via an invitation link—no need to switch repeatedly.

Remove Device Authorization and Common Issues

When your account reaches the device limit (3 devices for free, 5 for Premium), you'll see a "Too many devices" message when trying to log in on a new device. Go to your account page on the Spotify website, enter "Manage Devices," and manually remove devices you no longer use. Additionally, if you don't receive a verification code, check your spam folder or try a different browser.

If you see a "Wrong password" error despite entering the correct one, it's often due to caps lock being on or your account being compromised. Change your password immediately and enable two-factor authentication to protect your account.
